How a search number becomes a ChatGPT estimate

ChatGPT publishes no traffic data. So we start from something that is measured, real demand on Google, and follow it through to each website ChatGPT names.

Demand split by click rate at each rank.
From measured Google demand for a topic to an estimated visit count for every site ChatGPT recommends.
1

Measure real demand

We start from how many people search Google for a topic like running shoes, then scale that demand down to ChatGPT's smaller audience.

2

Ask ChatGPT, five times

We run the “best X” prompt through ChatGPT and record which websites it recommends, and where each one ranks across the runs.

3

Split the traffic by rank

Higher-ranked sites earn a bigger share of that demand. We turn each site's share into estimated monthly visits and dollar value.

What you can find here

Whether you run a brand, an SEO team, or a marketing budget, this is a view you can't get from ChatGPT itself.

Find your website

Look up any domain to see the prompts where ChatGPT recommends it, how it ranks, and the traffic that implies.

Size up your competitors

See who ChatGPT recommends in your space, how often they land at #1, and where you stand against them.

See how it's estimated

Every number is a transparent estimate. Read exactly how we get there, with the studies behind each assumption.

ChatGPT is a traffic channel now

Since May 2026, ChatGPT puts clickable links in its answers, and referral traffic to the sites it recommends roughly doubled within weeks. Most teams still have no way to see it.

Common questions

Are these real, logged ChatGPT prompts?

No. ChatGPT doesn't share what people ask, and we never have access to anyone's conversations. Each category stands for the real demand behind a topic, sized from Google and verified by running the prompt through ChatGPT ourselves.

How accurate are the numbers?

Read the rankings as the strong signal and the absolute visit counts as order-of-magnitude. We keep the click rates deliberately conservative, so today's figures are more likely to understate than overstate. The full methodology is honest about where the uncertainty lives.

Where does the data come from?

Google search volume and cost-per-click from Keywords Everywhere, combined with our own runs of each prompt through ChatGPT, five times per topic.
